Tell Me About It...

Story Time

I use the phrase “story time” a lot in my life. When I was a kid, every night there was story time where one of my parents read to me and my brother. We even had a system of whose room to read in each night so it was fair. Now, when I finally see my friends after a few days and we have to catch up I start my monologues with “story time.” I even start texting conversations by sending “story time” with no context until paragraphs of the long story follow.

Stories are my favorite thing in the world and they are all around us. They’re in books, on the news, we stream them in movies and shows, we listen to our friends, see picture stories on social media, and watch stories play out in real time in front of us. That’s the beautiful thing about stories; they are touching and entertaining as well as being everywhere.

I have the opportunity to make telling stories my career as an MMJ. I love storytelling in Chapel Hill right now keeping the town and campus informed of the news in the area. And I can’t wait to do the same for whatever amazing town I move to after graduation.

The point of the story above is to say that I can’t wait to share more inspiring, entertaining, touching, emotional, funny, and informative stories that I hear and experience this year on this blog. I can’t wait for story time!
