Melissophobia
I love stories. I love talking. I love myself. So it’s no surprise that I love talking about myself. But when I sat down to write a whole blog post “introducing me” and “telling my story” I hit a wall. After all, my life can’t fully be described in 10 fun facts or one quirky story. To top it all off, I’m only 21 years old so how much ‘life experience’ do I even have? But everyone has an origin story and on May 15th, 1998 at 3:43am Jamie and Lisa Rademaker had their first child…a daughter…and named her Melissa Grace.
Melissa means honeybee in Greek. My mom has called me honeybee for as long as I can remember and the nickname has really stuck with me. I like to think of the honeybee as my spirit animal, and that’s inspired a lot of my philosophies in life.

Bee-cause…
- Lots of people are afraid of bees even though they are so small. It reminds me of the Shakespeare quote “Though she be little; she is fierce.” I like to think of all 5’3′ of myself as a force to reckon with.
- I’m so jealous that bees can fly! I love jet-setting and travel. I also love thrills so if I could have any superpower it would be flying for sure. I would soar over my favorite towns and fly to new places.
- I’m definitely personality type 3 “the achiever” and a hard worker bee when it comes to projects I care about.
- Honey is sweet and so am I, but when something is wrong or I need to get something off my chest…you’ll know because I can have a strong sting too.
- Overall, I’m a real Queen Bee. I can be really particular about what I like and often I expect the world because I live life with a lot of energy. I love my hive; my family and friends mean the world to me.

Not to be tacky, but I would sum up my life philosophy as I will always unapologetically bee myself 🐝
