Audio
As a media and journalism student at UNC, I spent a semester reporting for radio and learning to use sound editing software to produce audio stories. Here are some of my packages from the fall of 2017 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Boycott UNC might sound like students making an excuse to skip class, but it’s really student protesters refusing to buy goods from the university. The participants want to put economic pressure on UNC to take Silent Sam down during the fall 2017 semester. Here’s Melissa Rademaker with the story.
North Carolina State Fair officials report record breaking crowds on opening night and a total of more than one million attendees for the 2017 event. Many students took the opportunity to experience a tasty and brightly colored break from studying. Here’s Melissa Rademaker with the story.
Middle school girls in the Raleigh-Durham area have the opportunity to learn about physical and mental health in a fun and engaging way through Healthy Girls Save the World, a non-profit founded by UNC sister athletes in 2011. The organization hosted a Dancing Divas themed day camp on campus on November 11, 2017.
Most UNC students know the legend of the 300-year-old Davie Poplar tree. If the tree falls…the university falls. UNC students and staff have cautiously resumed their routines after a small detonation in the upper quad on Thursday afternoon set the tree on fire…threatening the tree’s stability. Here’s Melissa Rademaker with campus reactions.
On December 6th, 2017…four new town council members took their seats in town
hall and will begin their work on the Chapel Hill 2020 plan in January.
The members will bring new ideas to how the town will reach its goals of
creating affordable housing and supporting new businesses. Here’s Melissa
Rademaker with the story.
